Hainan|Asian Charity Night Grandly Held at Yacht Club
On the evening of November 16, 2023, the Asian Charity Night was held at the Huacai Jiepeng Yacht Club. The event welcomed 400 representatives from 16 Asian countries and regions, as well as 15 international organizations, who gathered to explore the opportunities, trends, and future of high-quality development in Asian philanthropy.

Guided by the theme “Culture of Compassion, Economy of Goodness”, Asian Charity Night encourages individuals with social influence from the fields of culture, art, design, and business to engage with diverse philanthropic themes through both regular and special events. The initiative aims to promote an Art + Design + Philanthropy platform, facilitate contemporary international cultural and artistic exchange, support the growth of young artists, and collect original modern artworks through donations from both domestic and international artists. It strives to amplify the impact of core creative industries—such as art, culture, design, and media—within the public welfare sector.
Su Tong, Chair of the Expert Committee of the Asian Foundation for Arts and Culture, delivered a report on behalf of the Hainan-based Asian Academy of Arts, in collaboration with the China team of John Howkins, widely known as the “Father of the Creative Economy.” The report recalled the adoption of the International Year of Creative Economy for Sustainable Development by the United Nations General Assembly in 2020, following the proposal submitted by Howkins. It also introduced ongoing initiatives such as the 8,000-Mile China Axis Charity Tour.
The event was strongly supported by the Hainan Provincial Women's Federation, New World Group, and the Green Homeland Project. Jiangsu Yanghe Brewery Joint-Stock Co., Ltd. (Sujiu Group) served as the strategic partner of Asian Charity Night, with its “Dream Blue” series as the exclusive liquor sponsor for the event.
Actors Xiaoming Huang and Chiling Lin served as official ambassadors for the event.
