Dear Artist Friends,

The London New Year Art Residency Program aims to provide a platform for creative exploration with academic depth, offering participants an opportunity to engage deeply with the international art community. At this unique moment, we will gather outstanding artists from Asia and other regions to explore together the cultural background of art, cross-cultural dialogues, and the position of contemporary art in a global context.

By delving into the cultural richness of the city of London, including significant venues such as the British Museum, we encourage artists to reflect deeply on the context of their own creative work. This is not only an enhancement of individual artistic practice but also a profound reflection on contemporary societal issues. We believe that art is not only an expression of aesthetics but also an observation and response to societal, historical, and cultural phenomena.

The scheduled duration of the art residency is from December 30, 2023, to January 8, 2024. During the residency, artists will be led to witness the New Year's Eve fireworks celebration in London, experiencing the unique atmosphere of the New Year's night. Furthermore, we encourage artists to break the boundaries of traditional media during the concentrated creative phase, presenting their unique understanding of contemporary society and individual experiences in diverse forms.

The deadline for art residency applications is November 29, 2023, and there are no restrictions on the type of artistic creation. Upon completion of the residency programme, we will lead the artists in holding a special exhibition in London, promote the exhibition in China and the UK, and provide each artist with a precious documentary recording of their creative work in the UK. Through this residency, we hope to establish a close international art exchange network, promoting dialogue and understanding among different cultures. Each participant will become a crucial member of this global art community, collectively contributing to a new chapter in global artistic creativity.
