On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Sino-French diplomatic relations and the centenary of the French Olympic Games, the Carrousel Hall of the Louvre Palace will serve as a bridge for cultural exchange, bringing together outstanding artists and their works from around the world. Together, they aim to create a profound and unforgettable artistic experience for this special moment. The works will encompass various fields such as painting, sculpture, installations, photography, and more. Through unique perspectives and profound expressions, artists will engage in a deep dialogue between art and the Olympic spirit, infusing each piece with the spirit of Sino-French friendship and the centennial Olympic ideals, conveying a deep understanding of the profound impact of Eastern culture. The exhibition is designed to showcase academic depth.
The theme of the exhibition, "Art Olympics: A Manifesto," aims to explore how art becomes a reflection of human civilization and, leveraging the solemn occasion of the Olympics, promotes the pursuit of universal values. This exhibition is not merely an art display; it is a profound interpretation of the friendship between the two countries and the history of the Olympics. It is a reflection on the glorious past and an anticipation of a passionate future.
"Art Olympics: A Manifesto" will be set against the backdrop of the Chinese Year of the Dragon. The Year of the Dragon, symbolizing strength, honour, and prosperity in the traditional Chinese lunar calendar, was chosen not only to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Sino-French diplomatic relations but also as a mark of respect and tribute to the traditions of Eastern culture. Let's journey through the river of time together, immerse ourselves in this artistic feast that blends Sino-French friendship, the centennial Olympics, and Chinese traditional dragon year culture. Experience the fusion of history and culture, appreciate the profound charm of art and the Olympics, and collectively embark on this cultural journey with art as its soul.
