Hong Kong | Asian Emerging Artist List Exhibition Successfully Helde

On May 30, 2025, the second round of the Asian Emerging Artist List offline exhibition opened at the AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong. As a key feature of the 3rd Art Hong Kong Expo, the exhibition showcased a dynamic array of works that offered a bold new declaration from emerging artistic voices, unfolding a rich cross-cultural dialogue through an independent curatorial lens.

The Asian Emerging Artist List is an international initiative launched by the Asian Academy of Arts, dedicated to identifying and supporting promising new-generation Asian artists worldwide. Through a rigorous three-round selection process across five major cities—Shanghai, New York, London, Singapore, and Hong Kong—the program provides international exposure and professional resources, fostering the global reach of contemporary Asian art. This exhibition featured selected works from the first-round finalists, encompassing a wide range of media including painting, digital art, sculpture, installation, and multimedia. Together, these works reflected the diversity and innovation of Asian contemporary art.

More than an exhibition, the Asian Emerging Artist List represents a cultural initiative within the contemporary art world. It is committed to amplifying the voices of often-overlooked emerging and cross-disciplinary Asian artists, especially those from the margins, by transcending the boundaries between art and lived experience through an international curatorial framework.

This year’s exhibition brought together outstanding next-generation Asian artists from China, the United Kingdom, the United States, and over 25 other countries and regions. Visitors to the exhibition engaged actively with the artworks and curatorial presentation, capturing moments of cultural convergence that transcended geographic and linguistic borders.
Over twenty participating artists visited the exhibition in person, bringing their works to life with vivid interpretations and creating direct dialogue between creators and viewers.

Upholding values of openness, inclusivity, and cultural plurality, the Asian Emerging Artist List has built an art space that bridges regional and cultural divides. Here, artists from diverse backgrounds connect through a shared discursive platform—an exploration of artistic freedom and a practice in how art can foster intellectual and human connection amid global currents.

By continuously dismantling cultural barriers and deepening artistic exchange, the Asian Emerging Artist List not only affirms the rising global relevance of Asian art, but also paves new pathways for transnational artistic dialogue. Looking ahead, the Asian Academy of Arts will continue its commitment to enhancing the international visibility of emerging artists and fostering global collaboration—bringing more visionary talents to the global stage.
