2023 Paris | Boundless Borders, Marginalized Voices: A Manifesto Grand Opening at the Carrousel du Louvre

On the afternoon of July 15, 2023 (Paris time), Boundless Borders, Marginalized Voices: A Manifesto officially opened at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris. Curated by the Asian Academy of Arts, the exhibition was selected from hundreds of international artist submissions, ultimately showcasing works across multiple mediums including painting, photography, video, sculpture, and installation. The show brought together over 70 artists from China, France, the United Kingdom, the United States, Singapore, and beyond.

Notable attendees at the opening ceremony included Robert Fopa, representative of the World Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Centers and Associations (WFUCA); Lu Shaye, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to France; Ya Ding, Knight of the French Legion of Honour, writer, translator, and President of the Association pour le Développement des Échanges France-Chine (A.D.E.F.C.); Jean-Éric de Saint Luc, President of the International Tourism Federation; former Miss France titleholders; and more than 3,800 distinguished guests from international politics, business, arts, technology, and media—all gathered to witness this momentous occasion and participate in a rare artistic encounter.

Boundless Borders, Marginalized Voices: A Manifesto is an exhibition rooted in inclusion and cultural convergence. Presented as a vibrant artistic procession from July 15–16, 2023, at the Carrousel du Louvre, the show explored the power of art to transcend borders and amplify marginalized voices. The curatorial vision was anchored in a belief in the transformative force of contemporary art—seeking to present personal narratives, lived experiences, and creative courage, while nurturing a community grounded in diversity and equity.

The exhibition celebrated the limitless potential of artistic forms and the urgent need to give space to underrepresented perspectives. Through works that expressed cultural, geographical, and social plurality, the show invited deep viewer engagement and fostered lasting resonance between audience and artwork.

A Manifesto was not simply an exhibition; it was a call to action—urging artists, audiences, and the broader creative community to come together, dismantle existing barriers, reclaim freedom in artistic expression, and embrace the diversity that enriches our shared world. It invited all to join this unfolding journey, and to participate in a living, vibrant dialogue.
